As a principal dancer at Dancer Theatre of Harlem I worked directly with Founding Artistic Director Arthur Mitchell and School Director/Co-Founder Karel Shook. I worked with this company for 24 years not only as a dancer in the company but also in the school as a dance educator/teacher. This experience served as my educational foundation and prepared me for the many opportunities that followed. Thankful to Arthur Mitchell for his mentorship during my time with Dance Theatre of Harlem. Charmaine brings extensive performance, education, and leadership experience to Central Florida Ballet and Academy. A former Principal Dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem, she is acclaimed for roles including *The Firebird* and *Medea*. She has led international arts outreach, held leadership roles with major ballet organizations, and taught extensively. Charmaine is grateful for the opportunities shaping her career, including guest teaching at the 2025 IABD event.
