Kids are always drawing, imagining, dancing, etc. and that's the same way it was for me. But at 8 years old, my mother enrolled me in ballet classes (she had danced as a kid and into adulthood, as well). "Promising plies" was the remark on my first Cecchetti review after my first year. As the years passed, ballet grew to take up all my free time. Why? Moving in this style to music gave me an incredible feeling - a high, a joy.
I was a junior with the Syracuse Ballet Company until I went to Juilliard for a 4-year degree. I excelled, until my senior year, when depression hit me. I graduated, danced here and there. Eventually, I quit to see what else I could do. My arts administration journey began while I earned my Masters in arts management.
